The southern parts of the country, Matabeleland South and southern parts of Masvingo, experienced an uneven start to the season which was followed by an uneven spatial and temporal distribution of rainfall. It covers 7,000 km2 (less than 2% of total area of Zimbabwe). It aims to improve livelihoods in Zimbabwe’s semi-arid agro-ecological regions IV and V by increasing the adoption of climate-smart innovations in livestock-based production systems, and by improving the surveillance and control of livestock diseases. Livestock and livestock products as well contribute significantly to the economy of Zimbabwe, with cattle accounting for 35% to 38% of the GDP contributed by the agricultural sector (FAO, 2020). mm ls br fd dl dk nv ly tj gv
